Equipment that's gone ...

  • Akai XE-8 Drum module
    Along with two cards was sold with an Alesis Micro Enhancer for £120. The XE-8 was an interesting (and flexible) unit for producing percussive sounds. Here's what the purchaser said:

  • Alesis Micro Enhancer
    Sold as part of a package along with the XE-8 (above).
     
  • Alesis Quadraverb Plus
    Sold as part of a package (with a Proteus) back in March 2001.
     
  • Behringer Virtualizer Pro DSP1000P
    Went to a good home for £60 where it became part of a small but expanding home studio.
     
  • Boss DRP-1 and DRP-3
    Six voice drum pads with trigger out modification (to enable the pads to trigger other connected devices.
     
  • Boss Micro Series:
    ROD-10 Overdrive/Distortion (sold for £40).
    RPS-10 Pitch Shifter/Delay.
    RPW-7 PSU.
    RDD10 Digital Delay.
    RSD10 Delay/Sampler.
    The last four units above winged their way over to New Zealand for £300 (this price included the shipping, paperwork and packaging to NZ).
     
  • Boss DR5 Dr-Rhythm
    Synth/drum module. Sold with its psu, but without its missing battery cover.
     
  • DOD FX30B Gate/Loop pedal
    Let this go for £10, destined to become the noise reduction device, in a collection of foot pedals on a customised floor pedalboard.
     
  • Carlsbro Marlin 6-300 (rare 300w mixer amp)
    Went to a happy purchaser here in the UK who had this to say when the amp arrived "just what I wanted, and wonderously light!"
     
  • Casio DG-20 Digital Guitar
    Created a lot of interest (from all over the world).Went to a purchaser in the UK for £150 (which included the postage).
     
  • Creative Labs AWE 32 (ISA sound card - with discs)
    Sold for £12-50p (which included the postage). A good card with room for (memory) expansion.
     
  • Doepfer MAQ16/3 MIDI Analogue Sequencer
    The MK3, modified with output jacks on the front panel (as well as those on the rear of the unit).
     
  • E-mu ESI 32 Sampler
    With final firmware upgrade, 8Mb RAM, SCSI, hard drive and CD ROM drive.
     
  • E-mu Proteus/1 sound module
    Went at the same time as the Quadraverb.
     
  • ETI (Powertran) Vocoder
    Design published in 'Electronics Today International' and sold in kit form by Powertran. Build quality can vary, so make sure you try before buying! This one went in part exchage towards a Doepfer modular system.
     
  • Fender Vibro Champ (valve combo amp - vgc)
    There was a lot of interest in this very good little recording amp from gutarists (and collectors) all over the world. I accepted a cash offer of £200. The buyer picked up the amp and went away very happy (and still is)!
     
  • Fostex DCM-100 and Mixtab
    Rack mount 1u mixer and tablet mixer. MIDI. Sold the pair for £175.
     
  • Kenton PRO 2 dual MIDI/cv-gate converter
     
  • Korg DVP-1 Vocoder/Voice processor
    Another bit of Korg kit I have a soft spot for. It had to go when a Roland JP-8080 took over its duties. Went for £210 (which included postage).
     
  • Korg KMS-30 MIDI Synchronizer
    Sold for £60 (plus the postage). The new owner emailed me to say.. "cheers... received korg, happy with it." They're happy, I'm happy!
     
  • Korg Mono/Poly Synthesizer
    I like this synth, sold this one for £385. I've owned three and always regret selling. Can suffer from tuning problems ('heating' resistor fails). I'd buy another (at the right price!)
     
  • Lexicon Vortex Audio Morphing Processor
    Purchased from the editor of 'Sound on Sound' (it's the one reveiwed in the magazine!) and sold (for £175) because it was replaced by a Lexicon MPX 1 (which will also 'morph').
     
  • Pearl Drum-X
    A 2u rack drum module that is not MIDI. Sold (for £150)to a person with the pads, the pads to match the Drum-X!
     
  • Oberheim DPX-1 Digital Sample Player
    Along with 430+ disc library (shown below). Went to a working studio in London for the asking price of £250 (+ £17 for the shipping).
    261 x 5.25 inch Emulator EII discs (which includes 97 discs from the BBC)
    32 x 3.5 inch Sequential Circuits P2000 discs
    65 x 3.5 inch Ensoniq Mirage discs
    30 x 3.5 inch Akai S900 discs (including the S900 demo by Anne Dudley)
    48 x 3.5 inch DPX-1 encoded Emulator EII discs
     
    Note! As is my policy before sending equipment I sell, I checked out the DPX and discovered that some of the discs had degraded and wouldn't load, something to watch for when buying older libraries!
    (And yes, I did inform the purchaser before concluding the sale!)

  • Roland SPD-8 Percussion Pad
    Sold back in February 2001 for £160. Some nice sounds on board.
     
  • Roland TB303
    Didn't take long to sell this (for £530 inclusive of postage). It was in very good condition with its silver carry case and owner's manual.
     
  • Roland U-220 RS-PCM module
    Did its tour of duty entertaining the crowds on a leisure cruiser before passing through here. It was sold along with four cards: SN-U110-05 Orchestral Strings, -06 Orchestral Winds, -07 Electric Guitar and -11 Sound Effects.
     
  • Simmons MTM (MIDI/Trigger/MIDI) signal processor
    Sent to a buyer in the USA who was very happy with it. Here is what he had to say: " I have successfully recieved the MTM in expected condition. I want to say thank you for making this a remarkably pleasurable transaction experience and that I appreciate your thorough attention to the specifics. Though this has been a learning experience for me as far as international shipping is concerned, the quality of your ethics has become a great part of the experience."
     
  • Spirit Folio Lite mixer with rack mount adaptor
    A good little mixer, used for a long time as the sub-mixer in a modular system. Went in part-exchange for computer equipment.
     
  • Yamaha GC2020 Compressor/Limiter
    A good, solid unit. Sold for £60 and used alongside other outboard equipment where it's fitted in well.
     
  • Zoom 9001 Multi Fx processor (pedal type).
